Perform Out KC! - Resources

Young people of all gender identities and sexual orientations deserve access to the
tools to be healthy, empowered members of their communities. EQUAL enables the
next generation of social justice leaders dedicated to ending all forms of oppression.

We provide information, support, referrals, advocacy and other services to LGBT
survivors of violence including domestic violence, sexual assault, and bias crimes,
focusing these services within the Kansas City metropolitan area. KCAVP also
educates the community at large through training and outreach programs.

Ozanam responds to the behavioral, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of youth
and their families with dignity and care, providing a continuum of innovative services
of the highest quality.

Our purpose is to help support LGBT youth. LGBT youth are a demographic that
have minimal support or assistance from society and social or community programs
in general. Our main focus is to provide an environment where LGBT youth can just
be themselves and be happy as they are. We feel it is extremely important to allow
them to know that there is nothing wrong with them, no matter if they are lesbian,
gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, or straight.

GLSEN-GKC strives to assure that each member of every school community is
valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity/expression.
Homophobia and heterosexism undermine a healthy school climate, so we work to
educate teachers, students and the public about their damaging effects on youth
and adults alike.

PROMO is Missouri's statewide organization advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual,
and transgender equality through legislative action, electoral politics, grassroots
organizing, and community education.

The mission of Synergy Services, Inc. is to eliminate family violence, abuse, and
neglect by providing quality services for persons of all ages. We seek to empower
the individual, strengthen the family, and develop our community through crisis
intervention, shelter, counseling, advocacy, and education.
